What's Going On
A couple of things about what's up in L.A. these days:
The price for
regular gas has hit $4.75 a gallon out here. (That's on the West side. the gas station down the street from me had it at $4.17 last night; I'm sure it'll be 2 cents higher today - it's been doing that every 2-3 days.)
Housing is sufficiently bad out here that a builder is
giving homes away.
California is generally seen as picking up on things last or slowly. With the housing bubble we can proudly state that we hit on that earlier and accomplished the
biggest bubble across the nation. More people here were what we in my neighborhood call
pendejo than any others in the country.
Lastly, and this one is fun: Check out your local real estate market with
Trulia Snapshot. Just go to the top of the page and change the city after "Homes For Sale In:" (Link takes you to L.A. with most expensive listed. Check out "least expensive" and scroll over to homes to check out what's "cheap" out here.)
time for work.
